Analyzing the role of ciliary cAMP signaling in controlling BAT development and function

We aim to uncover the mechanisms how ciliary GPCR/cAMP signaling controls brown adipocyte differentiation and BAT function. We will (1) elucidate the ciliary GPCR/cAMP signaling pathways in brown preadipocytes, (2) investigate the role of AC3 and its regulation by AC3-AT in ciliary signaling and brown adipocyte differentiation, and (3) explore how primary cilia dysfunction affects adipogenesis and BAT function. Using advanced imaging tools, mass spectrometry-based ciliary proteomics, and mouse models, we will systematically analyze ciliary signaling dynamics and its impact on brown adipocyte differentiation and, in turn, BAT function.
