The role of ACTH and glucocorticoid signaling in brown fat metabolism

We investigate how the body's stress hormone system (the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal axis) regulates brown adipose tissue metabolism and appetite. Using mouse genetics, human brown fat cells, and advanced proteomic approaches, we study how adrenocorticotropic hormone and glucocorticoid hormones control metabolic pathways, feeding behavior and gene regulation in brown fat. Our goal is to uncover new molecular pathways that can be targeted to enhance energy expenditure and improve metabolic health.
