Relevance of vascularization and endothelial lipoprotein processing for thermogenic adipose tissue plasticity and function
© Wilhelm-Jüngling
Project P05 will investigate lipid processing and transcriptional regulation within ECs of BAT to determine its relevance for thermogenesis. We will use EC-specific genetic mouse models, AAV-mediated overexpression/knockdown, multiomics, and TRL lipid composition analyses to define how ECs control themogenic function. Building on our insights into CD36/SR-B1 function and FOXO1/HIF1a pathways, we will define how TRL-derived lipids and EC-enriched genes shape signaling, fuel uptake, and adaptive responses in BAT. This work elucidates endothelial–adipocyte communication driving thermogenic regulation.
