TRR 333 BATenergy: Brown and Beige Fat - Organ Crosstalk, Signaling and Energetics

Introducing ourselves: A video tour of the CRC TRR 333

TRR 333 Introduction Movie

The Collaborative Research Center (CRC) TRR 333 Brown and Beige Fat – Organ Crosstalk, Signaling and Energetics (BATenergy) is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) since 2022 and investigates brown adipose tissue and metabolism. The Project focusses on the energy consuming brown adipocytes and on rebalancing the energy homeostasis in patients with metabolic diseases.

Participating Universities and Research Institutions

The University of Bonn, the Universität Hamburg, the Technical University of Munich and the Helmholtz Center Munich are leading research organizations in the field of brown and beige adipose tissue in Germany. The CRC/TRR333 constitutes a unique possibility to bring together leading scientists in the field of brown and beige adipose tissue and energy homeostasis and foster their interaction. All participating institutions offer state-of-the-art research infrastructure and an outstanding environment for excellent research.
